Wigs and "Your Beauty Program"
Self-Image is important to all cancer patients.
The body goes through so many changes from cancer and cancer treatments, especially the hair and skin. It’s important to feel good about yourself – and Yellow Brick Place is here to help. All of our services are completely free of charge and come with a private, confidential consultation with one of our caring team members.
Complementary Wigs
Yellow Brick Place has a wig gallery to find the perfect fit, style and color for anyone battling cancer. We also have a variety of head coverings, scarves, jewelry and other accessories for any occasion.
These products, including the wigs, are new, high-quality and completely free of charge. A consultant will help you pick out a wig, fit and style it in our salon.
"Your Beauty Program"
The “Your Beauty Program” teaches clients make-up and beauty techniques to help manage the hair loss and skin changes from cancer and treatments. Skin can change in texture and color and some may lose eyebrows and eyelashes. Your Beauty consultants will teach you how to apply make-up and take care of your skin during this time.
Each client receives a Beauty Bag, complete with new makeup, tools, and additional beauty products, free of charge.
Additional Free Products
For clients who have undergone a mastectomy, Yellow Brick Place has a variety of handmade prosthesis (lovingly called ‘knitted knockers’) to choose from.
For clients with a chest port, we have small pillows that attach to a car seatbelt. This protects the port while maintaining proper seatbelt placement.
Both our knitted knockers and port pillows are donated by local makers.
