Welcome to Yellow Brick Place Cancer Wellness Center. We are the missing link between a cancer diagnosis and your journey to recovery.
Yellow Brick Place is a non-profit organization in Northeast Ohio that provides non-medical support to anyone battling cancer. Our purpose is to nourish and comfort the mind, body, and spirit during the fight against cancer. We provide a hopeful environment for patients, families, and caregivers. All services are free of charge – all those touched by cancer deserve access to services regardless of race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, gender, age, religion, or sexual orientation.
The Yellow Brick Place facility in Youngstown, OH, is an atmosphere of dignity, respect, and hope. All clients are welcome by appointment. Please call us at 234-228-9550 to schedule.
Our Mission:
The mission of Yellow Brick Place is to offer support and education to cancer patients and those closest to them by providing individual and group services in Mahoning, Trumbull, and Columbiana Counties in Ohio and Mercer and Lawrence Counties in Pennsylvania. The organization’s purpose is to nourish the mind, body, and spirit during the fight against cancer and provide a hopeful environment for cancer survivors, families, and caregivers. Cancer impacts all aspects of a person’s life. Coping with mental, physical, financial, and emotional worries takes a toll, and we are here to help alleviate that stress. We are the only cancer wellness center in the Mahoning Valley. All our services are offered free of charge and are non-medical.
Our History
Yellow Brick Place was founded by two cancer survivors, Donna Detwiler and Anna Aey. While receiving treatment out of town they realized how much those on a similar path deserved to have access to a cancer wellness center here in the Valley. Their dream was to create a safe, non-medical place where clients would reap the benefits of a healing environment while finding the encouragement and hope that so many desperately seek while going through cancer.
As Yellow Brick Place was being developed, two words stood out which were HOPE and HOME. Add in Donna’s love of the Wizard of Oz and its message to never give up, hence, “Yellow Brick Place – No Place Like HOPE” was formed.
YBP collaborates with all cancer medical centers in the area ensuring all cancer patients have access to our services.
