What a year!
Wow, 2025 has been a year of remarkable growth and reach for Yellow Brick Place (YBP). From completing our renovation and expansion to welcoming a record number of new clients, there is so much to celebrate!
This year, we expanded our services to include four healing support groups, more monthly health and wellness activities, additional educational classes, and our beloved wig program. Every single program — including the gift of beautiful, brand-new wigs — is offered completely free of charge to those facing cancer. Each program provides comfort, strength, and connection when it’s needed most.
Our mission has been sustained by a community of compassionate people, including our staff, volunteers, board members, and most importantly, you. Your generosity has allowed Yellow Brick Place to grow into the lifeline it is today for hundreds of local cancer patients, survivors, and families.

Meet Renee
The last thing Renee thought she would hear at the start of 2025 was, “You have cancer. ” At 38, and with no known history of breast cancer, she was shocked and scared! She found herself overwhelmed by the uncertainty of what lay ahead.
Renee serves on the YBP Board, yet now she was looking at her beloved organization in a whole new light. Renee shared, “I knew what services YBP provides, but walking in that day, I still felt scared and alone. I needed support and hope, and I found both! I discovered a caring team ready to walk beside me every step of the way.”
At YBP, Renee chose the beautiful, brand-new wig pictured to the right—a gift made possible by the generosity of our donors. What was a moment of fear became one of empowerment and dignity, allowing Renee to feel like herself again!
Renee continued, “It’s heartwarming how many people have had the same incredible experience. At programs, no one knows I am on the Board. I am just Renee. And, everyone talks about the compassion and care they feel here. Thank you for giving me and all survivors the courage to face this journey head-on!”
Today, Renee is still in treatment and thriving. She credits much of her healing journey to the compassion and connection she found at YBP’s programs and community. Her story is one of many that show how your support can make a remarkable difference in someone’s life.

Lovelier Space
YBP has officially finished our renovation and expansion project! With our new home, we are better equipped than ever to provide hope to cancer patients in the Valley. Our new features include a beautiful wig room, a larger program area, a calming fountain added to our library, a fully functional kitchen for nutrition classes, and private rooms for Reiki and one-to-one support. Our generous landlord and foundations covered all renovation costs.

Like everyone, Yellow Brick Place has felt the effects of rising costs. In 2025, the wholesale price of our wigs increased by up to 33%. Similar cost increases have affected all other products we provide-items that help restore confidence and dignity during cancer treatment.
